Catch Basin Reconstruction may be needed to add structure to your parking lot or road. Catch basins are concrete bowls, typically 4 to 15 feet deep. On top of the concrete basin we install a metal casting and grate. Between the basin and metal casting and grate we install concrete rings, also known as donuts prior to paving. They ensure that the casting and grate are at the proper elevation. At the bottom of the concrete basin, pipes, also knows as inverts, carry water to the storm sewer or other outlet.

When a catch basin fails a pothole will form near it. These holes can be deep and dangerous. In most instances the concrete rings fail first and gravel washes into the basin. Since the concrete rings are close to the asphalt surface this is usually a simple and inexpensive fix.

Occasionally the inverts at the bottom of the casting begin to fail. This repair is more expensive because the entire area around the basin must be removed. At times the entire basin fails and must be removed and replaced. These repairs are the most costly.

When repairing catch basins it's impossible to quote the work up front since the contractor doesn't know the extent of the damage until the area is dug up. However, over 90% of catch basin repairs involve the top portion only. Catch basin repairs typically cost between $2,000 and $5,000.
